Gait Scan Analysis

Poor foot function can be a factor in foot pain, hip pain, knee pain and back pain.

Your foot is in contact with the ground for a fraction of a second when walking and even less when running, making it extremely difficult to accurately assess abnormal function.  

This practice uses the TOG Gaitscan system to analyse your gait pattern. This system records the timing and pressure sequences as you walk across a pressure plate.

Your foot pressure is mapped and a report is printed. This enables your physiotherapist to have a clearer picture of your foot biomechanics and whether you would benefit from custom orthotics.

Orthotics

Orthotics are devices worn in your shoes to provide correction to your feet. This permits the feet to function more efficiently and can reduce pain in the back, hips, knees and feet. If your physiotherapist has determined from your assessment that you could benefit from orthotics, the computerised system allows us to send your  measurements via the internet to the Orthotic Group laboratory where custom made orthotics can be manufactured specifically for your feet. You will need to confirm with your fund as to the rebate payable towards the cost of the orthotics.
